With an elegant metal plate and an aggressive front, the Malibu was designed to break through the boredom that permeates the world of family sedans. The interior has more rear legroom than before, while the materials and overall design give it an exclusive look. Under the hood is a 160 hp turbo with four cylinders and 1.5 liters; a 2.0-liter 250-horsepower four-turbo is optional. Both have front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid Malibu is also available. In our tests, we saw 35 mpg.
This Chevy drives with calm and self-confidence, tuned to the light and stiff chassis. Although not really sporty, you'll never be nervous on the road thanks to precise steering, solid braking, intelligent transmissions and sophisticated power plants.
The Chevrolet Malibu, whose latest version debuted in 2016, is one of our favourite family sedans and a superb car in itself. It's attractive, lightweight for its class and solidly built.
The Chevy front-wheel drive roofline does not bother much with the rear distance, as you might think, and its 111.4-inch wheelbase offers plenty of room for the front and rear seat occupants. The tuning begins with the L, LS and LT volume models, all powered by a 163 hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission.
